Youyou Jujube (悠悠枣)

Description

Also known as Gaga Jujube, it produces medium-to-large fruits with a long cylindrical shape, slightly pointed at both ends, and uniform in size. Each fruit weighs on average 20-32 g. The skin is smooth, thin, and bright red; the flesh is greenish-white, fine-textured, crisp, and juicy, with a sweet–tart flavor and a pleasant aroma. Soluble solids content reaches 23.6-30.5%. The stone is very small, giving the fruit an edible rate of up to 96.5%.

This variety bears two crops per year: the first accounts for about 70% of the yield, and the second about 30%. The first crop ripens in mid-September, while the second ripens no later than mid-October. Youyou jujube is an excellent early-maturing fresh-eating variety.
