Description
Yihong Honey Peach, also known as Apple Peach, produces well-shaped round fruit with a slightly concave tip and broad shoulders. When fully ripe, the sun-exposed side turns deep red. The suture is extremely shallow, the surface is smooth with short, sparse fuzz, and the skin shows a rich red color covering 60–80% of the fruit. Sugar content exceeds 16° Brix. The flesh is fine-textured and crisp, with uniform ripening. The skin does not peel easily, juice content is moderate, the flavor is sweet with a strong aroma, and it is semi-freestone with a small pit, giving an edible rate of 98%. Fruits are large, weighing 210–280 g, with excellent fresh-eating quality. It is early-bearing and high-yielding. At room temperature, it can be stored for over 15 days, and under refrigeration for up to 50 days, showing good keeping quality. It matures from late July to early August.
