Description
Malaysia No. 5 Jackfruit was introduced from Selangor, Malaysia, and typically begins bearing fruit two years after planting. It is currently grown mainly in several towns and regions of Hainan, China, including Xilian and Xipei Farms in Danzhou, as well as Qiongshan (Haikou), Qionghai, and Chengmai.
This variety produces large fruits, with an average weight of 12 to 16 kilograms per fruit. It belongs to the firm-flesh (dry-type) jackfruit category. When ripe, the fruit has low latex content, and the flesh is mostly reddish-brown, though some may have yellow flesh. The arils are thick, with few fibers, offering a crisp and refreshing texture, making it ideal for fresh consumption.
