Description
Also known as “Luojiang Jujube,” is a premium local fruit variety from Luojiang District, Deyang City, Sichuan Province, and has been recognized as a China National Geographical Indication Product.
The name originates from the Tang Dynasty beauty Yang Guifei, who was said to favor this jujube. Due to its exceptional flavor, it became a tribute fruit in ancient times, hence the name “Guifei Jujube.” The core production area is in Luojiang, Sichuan.
The fruit is typically oval or ellipsoidal, with an average weight of 13-25 g. When fully ripe, the skin is thin, smooth, and glossy, turning a bright deep red. The flesh is yellow-white, crisp yet tender, juicy, and melts in the mouth. The soluble solids content reaches over 27% and the taste is purely sweet without acidity, with a high sugar content and rich aroma, making it a fruit of exceptional quality.
