Long Plum Tree (龙李)

Description

Long Plum (Long Li) is a premium plum variety selected from seedling progeny of the well-known Honey Plum. The fruit is oval-shaped with a light yellow skin. Under proper fruit thinning, the average single fruit weight is about 64.9 g, with some fruits exceeding 100 g.

The flesh is pale yellow, fine-textured, firm, and exceptionally crisp. It has a high sugar content of around 18%, reaching over 23% at peak maturity, with a total acid content of only 0.71%. The edible portion accounts for 97.69% of the fruit. The flavor is rich and intensely sweet, with abundant juice and no bitterness or astringency. The fruit is freestone, hard and crunchy, representing a classic crisp plum type of superior quality.

Long Plum ripens from mid June and can be stored at room temperature for approximately 10 days. It also shows strong resistance to fruit cracking, with a cracking rate of only 1–3%, making it well suited for commercial production and distribution.
