Description
The fruit of the Lajiao Jujube is long-conical in shape, with a longitudinal diameter of 3.5–4 cm. The skin is deep red with distinct surface ridges. The flesh is whitish-green, dense and finely crisp, with a soluble solids content of 32%–35%. It has a unique sweet-and-sour flavor. Individual fruits can weigh up to 25.95 g, making it one of the larger-sized varieties among fresh-eating jujubes. It matures in late August.
