Description
Originally from eastern Liaoning, China, near the Jilin border, Honey Snow Peach is known for its exceptional cold hardiness. According to the grower, it has survived winters with temperatures down to −30°C (−22°F) without cold damage over many years of trials.
The fruits weigh 200–300 g (7.1–10.6 oz), with pink flesh that develops a slight reddish tint when fully ripe. They ripen in August in Liaoning, reach 17–18° Brix, and offer a sweet flavor with a slight tang.
This high-yielding fuzzy peach variety also tolerates waterlogged conditions. With a fruit development period of approximately 80 days, it offers an option for growing peaches in colder regions where winter temperatures limit peach cultivation.
