Description

It is a premium, large-fruit variety of abiu (golden fruit) primarily cultivated in Taiwan’s mountainous areas like Liugui, Kaohsiung. Highly prized for its exceptional quality, this jumbo-sized variety consistently produces fruits weighing over 600 grams (1 Taiwan catty), with well-managed specimens easily reaching up to 1 to 1.8 kilograms.
What truly sets Guohua No. 1 apart from standard varieties is its superior eating texture. It features an incredibly thin skin and an abundance of sweet, refreshing juice. While ordinary abiu varieties contain a sticky latex that leaves an unpleasant, tacky residue on the lips, Guohua No. 1 is distinctly celebrated for being non-sticky and clean to eat. Its translucent, milky-white flesh boasts a unique, gelatinous texture that is delightfully springy, smooth, and entirely free of stringy fibers.
When chilled and scooped with a spoon, its consistency mirrors a gourmet, ice-cold jelly or natural konjac sorbet. It delivers a perfect balance of high sweetness and clean texture, making it one of the most sought-after luxury fruits in the market.
