Description
Gray jujube originates from Xinzheng, Henan, and is therefore also called Xinzheng Hui Jujube. The fruit is long obovate in shape, with an average weight of 12.3 grams and a maximum weight of 13.3 grams. Before ripening and turning red, the fruit appears grayish in color, which is how it got its name. After ripening in mid-September, the skin turns orange-red, with a small pit and thick flesh. It tastes sweeter than regular red jujubes.
