Chunhong Peach (春红桃)

Also known as Zhongtao No. 1, is an extremely early-ripening, fully red, firm-flesh peach variety. The fruit is nearly round, with a flat tip and occasionally a small point, and the two halves are fairly symmetrical. The average fruit weight is 116 g, with the largest exceeding 175 g. The skin has a greenish-white base color, and at maturity, the surface is fully covered with a rose-red blush, turning to purple-red when overripe. The flesh is white, firm, and crisp, softening slightly when fully ripe. It has medium juiciness, a sweet flavor, a soluble solids content of 10–12%, and clingstone pits. It ripens in late May, and after maturity, the fruit can remain on the tree for over 10 days without dropping or cracking. It is self-pollinating and highly productive.
