Description
This is a newly developed longan variety with excellent overall traits, bred by the College of Horticulture at South China Agricultural University. It matures from late August to early September. The fruit is nearly round with a yellow-brown, slightly rough skin. The flesh is waxy yellow, separates easily from the seed, is tender, and has a honey-sweet flavor with a strong pineapple aroma.
The average fruit weight is 12 grams, comparable to the ‘Chuliang’ longan variety. The soluble solids content ranges from 22.0% to 24.0%, with an edible rate of 65.0% to 70.0%. It has a total sugar content of 20.2%, a reducing sugar content of 7.71%, a titratable acid content of 0.04%, and a vitamin C content of 65.7 mg per 100 grams.
