Description

The Taishu sweet persimmon is regarded as the supreme king of sweet persimmons. It has a tender and crisp texture with a juicy, rich flavor that is both sweet and refreshing. Its taste is reminiscent of Hami melon, crisp pear, and yacon, yet it lacks the typical persimmon flavor, making it irresistibly delicious and leaving you wanting more.
The fruit is about 400g in size, about 1.5 times larger than “Fuyu”, and is also characterized by the fact that it is prone to developing tiny cracks called “stripes” at the top of the fruit.
These “stripes” are disliked as they look bad, but the parts with the “stripes” have a sugar content 2-3% higher than other parts, making them more delicious.
The fruit begins to color at the end of August, with a maturity period in mid-September. The optimal harvest time is in late September, but it can be delayed until mid-October for on-tree harvesting.
