Sunshine No.1 Tangelo (阳光一号桔柚)

Sunshine No. 1 Tangelo (original code “485-28”) is an excellent hybrid selected from the progeny of a cross between Ehime No. 28 (female parent) and Chunxiang (male parent). The variety has stable horticultural characteristics.

The fruit has a golden color and attractive appearance, with an average single fruit weight of 200–350 g. The flesh is crisp, juicy, and melts in the mouth, offering a unique flavor with a rich pomelo aroma and a pleasant sweet-tart balance.

• Soluble solids (TSS): 13–17%

• Total acidity: about 0.6%

• Sugar-acid ratio: excellent, giving a refreshing golden sweetness

• Peel: thin, easy to peel, does not stain hands

• Edible rate: over 85%

• Quality: superior to most citrus varieties ripening in the same season

Ripening period: late November to early December. Fruits can remain on the tree until March of the following year without quality loss.
Postharvest storage: keeps well for up to 3 months at room temperature, maintaining its flavor and texture.
