Red-Fleshed Plum Tree (红心李)

Description

Red-Fleshed Plum, also known as Zhuji Red-Fleshed Plum, produces round, slightly flattened fruit with an average weight of about 60 g per fruit. The fruit apex is rounded or slightly sunken. The skin has a green base color, with the red flesh showing through, and approximately half of the surface develops a dark red blush. The lenticels are medium in size, and the skin is medium-thick and easy to peel. A thick, gray-white bloom covers the surface.

The flesh near the pit is purplish-red. The texture is dense with few fibers, offering a rich sweetness balanced by mild acidity and a light aroma. The soluble solids content averages 11.9%. The fruit is clingstone, with an oval pit. The edible portion reaches 98%, making it well suited for fresh consumption and regarded as a high-quality dessert plum.

The fruit ripens in late June.
