Description
It originates from tropical Malaysia. The fruits are oblong‑elliptical in shape. A typical individual fruit weighs between 8 and 10 kg, while the largest specimens can reach 15 to 20 kg. The arils (pods) are yellow‑reddish, abundant, crisp, sweet, and very fragrant. There is very little sticky latex, so it doesn’t feel messy when eaten. The flesh is crunchy, contains little fiber, and has a balanced taste.
Under normal cultivation practices, the trees can begin flowering and bearing fruit in about 18 months, with fruit maturing from June to July.
