Description
It is a tropical fruit tree native to Southeast Asia, cherished for its thick-skinned, sweet, translucent, and mostly seedless fruit. These trees, part of the Mahogany family, are commonly grown for their yellow-brown, grape-like clusters that bear sweet, aromatic fruit. Ripe fruits are about4-5cm long, round to oblong, and bear no latex (unlike some Langsat varieties). They are very sweet, aromatic, and virtually seedless.
Longkong is considered one of the best varieties within the Lansium genus, often described as having a better, sweeter flavor than standard langsat.
