Description
Liangqing 1 longan has a semi-spreading crown. The main trunk and the first and second-level branches are gray-brown, with moderate branching angles. The tree grows vigorously with relatively thick and large leaves that are dark green and slightly glossy. The flowering period of Liangqing 1 is the same as that of the ordinary Shixia variety, but it is delayed by one week. Compared to the Shixia variety, this plant has a more vigorous growth, a taller and larger crown, and wider, larger leaves. It has a higher fruit set rate, better panicle development, and more fruit on the panicle. The fruit is larger, with thicker skin that is yellow-brown and more deeply colored, and thicker flesh. The seeds are red-brown (compared to the red-brown seeds of Shixia), larger, and fuller, with fewer and shallower wrinkles on the seed collar. The fruit matures 28 days later than Shixia, generally from September 5 to 15. The fruit is round, with an average weight of 10.2 grams, thick flesh, uniform color, semi-transparent, with a slight fragrance, and a dry, granulated texture. It has a soluble solids content of 19.56% and an edible rate of 69.09%.
