Description
It is a chimeric variant of the New Century guava. Unlike the white-fleshed New Century variety, it has red flesh. This variety not only inherits the excellent storage and transportation qualities of the white-fleshed New Century guava but also features a balanced sweet and sour taste with a crispy texture. After examination, no similar variety has been found domestically or internationally, so it was named “Century Red” guava based on its origin.
It is regarded as one of the best-tasting red-fleshed, crispy guava varieties. The texture is crisp, with a perfect balance of firmness, a satisfying sweetness, and a hint of mild acidity that complements the sweetness, making it a truly delightful eating experience. This sets it apart from other red-fleshed guava varieties from Taiwan.
