Kaohsiung 3 (高雄3号夏雪芒果)

Description

In 2008, the Kaohsiung Agricultural Research and Extension Station developed the Kaohsiung 3 Mango, also called Summer Snow. This variety combines the best qualities of various mango types. It uses the native mango as the mother plant, resulting in a fruit that exudes the native mango’s fragrance. Additionally, it has the sweetness of the Chiin Hwang mango and the texture of the Irwin mango, earning it the reputation of being the “LV of the mango world.”
It is a medium-sized fruit (weighing 350 to 500 grams) with golden yellow skin, moderate sweetness, and high flesh content. Nutritionally, each 100 grams of fruit contains 1.9 grams of dietary fiber, which is 35% higher than the “Irwin” mango. It has a vitamin A efficacy of 8071 IU (calculated from its beta-carotene content), which is 9 times that of “Irwin.” It also contains 4.32 milligrams of niacin, which is 7 times that of “Irwin,” and 0.36 milligrams of vitamin B6, which is twice that of “Irwin.” Besides being rich in nutrients, what makes Kaohsiung 3 particularly special is its reminiscent native mango flavor. The aroma becomes more intense as the fruit ripens, and the sweet and sour taste, along with the strong fragrance, lingers long after eating, satisfying both your sense of smell and taste buds.
