It is selected from a mutation of the regular rock sugar orange. The fruit is flattened and round, with a smooth orange surface and light orange flesh. The average fruit measures 62.99 mm in length and 72.33 mm in diameter, with a shape index of 1.08 and an average weight of 188 grams. Each fruit contains an average of 0.2 seeds, with 12% soluble solids, 0.2% titratable acid, and 58.08 mg of vitamin C per 100 ml. The juice yield is 64.52%, and the edible rate is 76.53%.
Compared to regular rock sugar oranges, Jinxiu shows significant differences in average fruit weight, acid content, and juice yield. It is also more tender and easier to break down when eaten. The juice has a very low acidity, making it richer and offering a superior taste compared to the regular rock sugar orange.
