Description
Jinchun is a high-quality, early-ripening yellow-flesh peach variety intended for fresh consumption. In the Shanghai region, the fruit ripens in early to mid-June, with a fruit development period of 78 to 82 days, which is 8–10 days earlier than Jinxing.
The flowers are rose-type, with pink petals, abundant pollen, and a high self-fruit set rate.
The skin has a yellow base color, with about 50% of the surface covered in purplish-red blush. The average fruit weight is 185-380g, and fruit firmness is 6–8 kg/cm². The fruit is nearly ovoid, with a shape index of 1.06 to 1.12.
The flesh is yellow, sweet, and juicy, with a soluble solids content of 10.2% to 11.4%. It is a clingstone variety.
