Description
Fuxiang Pear has an oval shape and is medium-sized, with an average weight of 114.8 grams, though larger fruits can reach up to 190 grams. The skin is greenish-yellow, with some fruits displaying a light red blush on the sun-exposed side. The surface is smooth and glossy, with small fruit dots. The core is large.
The flesh is white; when freshly harvested, it has a somewhat coarse, firm, and tough texture. After being stored for a while, the flesh softens, becoming more juicy, with a sweet and sour taste and a mild fragrance. It contains 11.05% to 12.84% soluble solids, 8.41% soluble sugars, 0.38% titratable acidity, and 0.66 mg/100g of vitamin C. The overall quality is rated from medium to good.
Fuxiang Pears are harvested in mid-August and are considered an excellent early-maturing variety for cold regions.
