Chuanjin No. 5 Mandarin (川津5号柑橘)

Description

It is an extra-early ripening mandarin bred from Nanxiang × Jinqiu Shatangju. The trees are vigorous with an open canopy and smooth, thin-skinned fruit that colors deep red by full maturity.

• Ripening time: Early September (very early)

• Fruit weight: 100–150 g

• Sugar content: 12.6–14 °Brix

• Acidity: ~0.9%, with early acid reduction

• Flavor: Sweet with a hint of tang, juicy, seedless, and aromatic

• Peel: Thin, smooth, and easy to remove

• Shelf life: Long tree-holding period (60–90 days), can harvest until late November
