Description

It has slightly flattened fruit with an average weight of 11 grams, though larger fruits can reach up to 36 grams. The skin is bright red with a waxy sheen, and the fruit surface is dotted with small, dense spots. The top of the fruit is broad and flat, featuring five distinct ridges. Most of the sepals fall off, leaving a deep, inverted conical calyx tube with a wide opening, giving the fruit its name “Chang Kou,” which means “wide opening.”

The flesh is white with some green veins and, in rare cases, light pink. The texture is firm and sticky, with a sweet and sour taste that is both refreshing and flavorful. The fruit is of high quality, containing 11.07% total sugar, 3.78% total acid, 2.92% pectin, and 48.1 milligrams of vitamin C per 100 grams of flesh. The flesh makes up 89.1% of the fruit, with a juice yield of 36.9%. The fruit is harvested in mid October and is known for its good storage and transport qualities.

Bare root shipping. Some leave, branches or roots will be trimmed off before shipping.
