Description
The Beizhai Red Apricot originated in Beizhai Village, Nandulehe Town, Pinggu District, Beijing.
The fruit is large and round, with an average weight of about 40 g and a maximum weight of up to 110 g. It has an attractive appearance, showing a red blush over a yellow base.
The skin is thin, the flesh is thick, and the pit is small. The fruit is juicy and flavorful, offering a pleasant sweet-tart taste. Sugar content ranges from 12% to 16.5%, leaving a lingering aroma after eating. When refrigerated, the texture and flavor become even better.
It is gentle on the stomach when eaten fresh. The dried pits contain sweet kernels, which are fragrant and crisp.
Nutritionally rich, the fruit contains vitamin C, carotene, fructose, organic acids, protein, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, and other essential nutrients.
The Beizhai Red Apricot ripens in late June, making it an excellent fresh-market variety.
