Description
This cultivar was developed through seedling selection from wild sour jujube forests in Neiqiu County, Xingtai, based on a comprehensive evaluation of yield potential, fruit quality, and stress resistance.
The fruit is flat-round in shape, relatively small, with a smooth surface, a depressed apex, and light red skin. The flesh is greenish-white, with little juice, loose texture, and a sweet-sour flavor. The average single fruit weight is 1.28 g, with a maximum of 3.20 g. The edible portion rate is 68.33%. The stone is relatively large, flat-round in shape, with a kernel-bearing rate of 92.40% and a kernel-extraction rate of 9.72%. The kernels contain high levels of active components: total saponins 0.087% and spinosin 0.097%.
The fruit development period is about 95 days, and in Cangzhou, Hebei (longitude 116.83°E, latitude 38.33°N), it matures in late September. Flower buds are flat and pentagonal in shape. The cultivar shows resistance to fruit cracking and jujube rust, with an average fruit-cracking incidence of 2.75% and a rust disease index of 4.04. It is mainly suitable for kernel (medicinal) use.
It adapts well to the jujube-growing plains of Hebei and other suitable regions for wild jujube. It flowers and fruits in the same year, with strong yield performance. The average yield is 978.56 kg per 667 m², representing a 14.33% increase compared with the control cultivar ‘Yinji No. 5’ sour jujube.
