Description
Fruit Size & Appearance: Typically 250–300 g (8.8–10.6 oz). The flesh is a striking deep golden yellow. When grown outdoors without fruit bags and exposed to ample sunlight, the skin can develop an attractive deep red blush, similar to that of a plum.
Exceptional Eating Quality: Known for its exceptionally juicy, sweet, and rich flavor. The dense, melting flesh can be so juicy that the fruit may drip when bitten into. Soluble solids can reportedly reach 16–22° Brix. The fruit has very little acidity and a rich tropical aroma reminiscent of mango, with a soft, almost creamy texture.
Ripening Season: An early-ripening selection of the Golden Peach. In Japan, it is generally harvested from mid-July through mid-August.
Additional Notes: Takizawa Golden Peach is considered a rare variety in the market and is sometimes described as a “phantom peach” because of its scarcity.
