Description
Shaoxing No. 9 is a naturally seedless grape variety characterized by elongated oval berries. The skin is yellowish-green, and the average berry weight ranges from 5–8 g, increasing to 8–12 g after berry enlargement treatments. Cluster weight typically exceeds 500 g.
The flesh is firm, crisp, and sliceable, making it well suited for fresh consumption. It has a strong and distinctive rose aroma, with sugar content exceeding 20%.
The vines show moderately vigorous to vigorous growth, with medium-sized leaves and moderate internode length. The variety has strong secondary fruiting ability. It is an extra-early ripening variety, requiring approximately 105 days from bud break to maturity.
Shaoxing No. 9 has excellent flower formation, large flowers, and good natural fruit set. It bears early, is highly productive, and demonstrates strong disease resistance under protected cultivation, making it a rare and outstanding ultra-early, high-quality seedless grape variety.
