Description
Also known as Santol or Wild Mangosteen, bears egg-shaped to obovoid fruits measuring 3–5 cm in length and 2.5–3 cm in diameter. The fruits turn yellow when ripe, with a persistent shield-like stigma. Each fruit contains 1–2 oval seeds, about 2–2.5 cm long.
The flowering period occurs from June to August, while the fruiting season lasts from November to December. When the fruit ripens, its sugar content is approximately 17. If left on the tree until mid-February, the sugar content can increase to around 21.
