Description
Originally from Julu County, Hebei Province, it boasts a cultivation history of over 300 years. The apricot is named for its vibrant red color and dense clusters of fruit growing along the branches. In 2010, Julu County successfully registered the geographical indication trademark for its red apricots.
Chuan Zhi Red Apricots are known for their sweet-tart flavor and rich nutritional value. The fruits are large, with an average weight of 52.5 grams. They feature fine, juicy flesh with a pleasant taste. The flesh contains 16% soluble solids, 1.96% reducing sugars, 5.6% soluble sugars, and 1.65% titratable acids. Each 100 grams of flesh also provides 7.46 mg of vitamin C and is rich in carotene, vitamins B1, B2, PP, calcium, phosphorus, and protein. Notably, it contains VB17, a substance associated with anti-cancer properties.
Chuan Zhi Red Apricots are suitable for long-distance transportation and can be stored for over 10 days under general conditions. The fruits ripen in mid-June.
