Guizao Lychee (桂早荔枝)

Description

Also called Guihuaxiang (Osmanthus Fragrance) in Hainan. The fruit is oval, with an average weight of 22.3 grams. The skin is bright red or crimson, with an attractive, vibrant appearance. The flesh is soft and smooth, waxy white in color, evenly toned with no discoloration, and the dry bracts do not ooze juice. The soluble solids content is 19.0%. The flesh contains 4.8% sucrose, 13.8% reducing sugars, and 72.4 mg of vitamin C per 100 grams. It has a sweet taste with a honey fragrance and a great flavor. It is high-yielding and stable, with no significant alternation between heavy and light fruiting years. The fruit matures in late May.
