Description

It is developed by the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences’ Fruit Tree Research Institute. It is also known as the Guifei pear.

The fruit is shaped like a gourd with a thick neck and a slightly slender top. The skin is greenish-yellow, with a light reddish blush on the sun-exposed side, rib-like protrusions, and patchy rust spots on the shoulders. The fruit dots are small, numerous, and not very noticeable.

The fruits are large, with an average weight of 271 grams, and the largest can reach up to 625 grams. The core is medium-sized, and the flesh is pale yellow-white with a coarse, crisp texture. The fruit can be eaten immediately after harvest, but after ripening, the flesh softens and becomes juicier. It has a sweet and sour taste with a refreshing fragrance, and is considered to be of high quality, containing 17.3% soluble solids.

In Xingcheng, Liaoning Province, the fruit is harvested in mid to late September and is classified as an excellent mid-season variety. The fruit can be eaten fresh or used for canning. At room temperature, it can be stored for about 20 days. Under conditions of 8–10°C, it can be stored for 2 months, and at 0°C, it can be stored for 4 months. The flavor improves with storage.

Bare root shipping. Some leaves and branches will be trimmed off before shipping.
