Description
Also known as Emerald pear, is a large fruit variety with an average weight of 250 grams, and the largest fruits can weigh up to 510 grams. The fruit is nearly round or flat-round in shape, with a relatively smooth and clean surface and medium-sized lenticels. The skin is green, giving the fruit an attractive appearance, though southern cultivation may result in a small amount of russeting. The fruit stem is 3.8 cm long and 0.3 cm thick, with medium-sized stem and calyx depressions. The calyx usually falls off, though some parts may remain.
The core is moderately small, and the flesh is milky white, tender, with few stone cells and abundant juice. The soluble solids content ranges from 12.2% to 14.3%, with total sugar content at 9.67% and total acidity at 0.085%. Each 100 grams of flesh contains 3.85 milligrams of vitamin C. The flavor is sweet and fragrant, with excellent quality. Fresh fruits have a shelf life of 20 days, and under refrigerated conditions, they can be stored for 2 to 3 months.
