Description
Guixiang mango is a new variety developed by Guangxi Agricultural University in the late 1970s to early 1980s. It was selected from the hybrid offspring of India 901 and Yingzui Mango.
Tree Growth: Medium vigor, branches are relatively long and sturdy, with fruit-bearing branches being autumn shoots, early winter shoots, or late shoots. The branches tend to droop after fruiting.
Leaves: Large, twisted, with distinct waves along the edges, and slightly wrinkled surfaces.
Inflorescence: Medium to large inflorescences, with 69.39% bisexual flowers. The mature fruit rate for bisexual flowers is 0.17%, and the cluster mature fruit rate ranges from 42-78%. The maturation period is in early August.
Fruit: Each fruit weighs between 215-360 grams. The fruit is long oval in shape with a shape index of 1.7-1.8. Initially light green, the fruit turns yellow-green or yellow as it ripens. The flesh is fine, juicy, with an edible rate of 69.0%. Soluble solids content ranges from 14.0-17.5%. Sugar content is between 11.49-16.22%, acid content is 0.08-0.56%, with a sugar-acid ratio of 41.47:1.
Disease Resistance: Strong resistance to sooty mold disease and comparable resistance to other pests and diseases as the India 901 variety.
